CHRISTMAS FAIR – BOTTLE STALL
Thank you very much for bringing in a bottle for the bottle stall at the Christmas Fair. Your support is very much appreciated!
PTFA HALLOWEEN DISCO – THURSDAY 23RD OCTOBER
Due to fire regulations, this event will be ticket admission only. Entry is £2 and includes a drink and packet of sweets or crisps. Tickets need to be purchased in advance from the school office and brought to the disco. Infants: 6.30 – 7.15 p.m. and Juniors: 7:30 – 8.15 p.m. Money should be in an envelope clearly labelled with your child’s name and class. Fancy dress is optional but there will be a prize for the best girl and boy costume in Infants & Juniors.
PUPIL ABSENCE DUE TO ILLNESS
Please can all parents ensure that they telephone the school office on the first day of absence and then on the third day of absence. This should be followed up by a letter upon the pupil’s return detailing the medical reason for absence. This system is extremely important in ensuring accurate attendance records and safeguarding pupils.
LADIES NIGHT – FRIDAY 7TH NOVEMBER
Our very popular Ladies Night is taking place on Friday 7th November at 7 p.m. Tickets are now on sale from the school office! Entry is £3 and includes a glass of fizz, raffle ticket and truffle on arrival. Tickets purchased in advance will be entered into a prize draw. You can bring your own refreshments.
School dinners cost £2.30 per day or £11.50 per week. Dinner slips will be sent out on Thursdays for collection on Friday mornings with exact amounts on. If you wish to pay up to the end of the next half term, the amount is £80.50 per child, 35 lunches in total. Cheques should be made payable to LCC. Cash and cheques should be in an envelope clearly labelled with your child’s name and class.
ANNUAL FIREWORK DISPLAY AND BONFIRE – WEDNESDAY 5TH NOVEMBER
Leyland Round Table will be holding their annual firework display and bonfire at Worden Park on Wednesday 5th November. Admission by programme costs £3.00 (free to under 5’s) with admission on the night charged at £5 per person (free to under 5’s). If you would like to obtain a programme then please complete the form sent home with your child and return it to Mrs Vost by Friday 24th October. Correct change only please in an envelope clearly labelled with your child’s name and class.
FIREWORKS DINNER – WEDNESDAY 5TH NOVEMBER
We are having a special Fireworks Dinner on Wednesday 5th November, which will be open to all children. More details can be found on the attached sheet. All replies need to be returned to school with payment by this Friday morning (24th October) to enable the order to be placed with the suppliers. Unfortunately no late order can be accepted.
FREE BIKE CODING – MONDAY 27TH OCTOBER
The Euxton Neighbourhood Policing Team will be available at Euxton Library on Monday 27th October 2014 between 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. to provide free bike security coding (includes scooters and skateboards). Everyone is welcome to come along!
YEAR 1 PLEA – MODEL MAKING
Year 1 would really appreciate it if you could bring into school by Friday 7th November any recyclable items such as plastic bottles, bottle tops, egg boxes, cardboard etc. to enable them to design and make some fantastic models! Many Thanks.
FREE DOG MICROCHIPPING – THURSDAY 30TH OCTOBER
Free dog micro chipping is being provided at Euxton Library on Thursday 30th October from 10:00 a.m. – 12 noon. Dogs must be over 12 weeks old. Advice will also be given on keeping your dog healthy, training and responsible dog ownership.
TUBS 4 TABLETS – TESCO
We are currently collecting tokens from special tubs of Flora and Stork sold in Tesco’s. For every 50 tokens we collect we will receive one touch screen tablet, Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0”, for use by our pupils. Please bring tokens to the school office. Thanks for your support!
SCHOOL COUNCIL PROJECT – ‘DON’T MESS WITH CHORLEY’ CAMPAIGN
The top two winning posters from each class will be displayed in Euxton Library over the half term. Please go down and select your favourite poster from the school which will then be professionally made up and displayed all around Chorley as part of the ‘Don’t Mess with Chorley’ Campaign

HALLOWEEN STORYTIME AND CRAFTS
Euxton Library is hosting a Halloween Storytime and Crafts session on Wednesday 29th October from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to join in!
CHRISTMAS BAUBLE DESIGN COMPETITION – DEADLINE FRIDAY 7TH NOVEMBER
The Crafty Potter and Booths are launching an annual Christmas bauble design competition across local schools. Each child who wishes to enter the competition needs to design a bauble on the attached template using any materials they want. All entries need to be returned to school by Friday 7th November. The completed designs will be judged and the winners for each age group across the schools awarded a prize in addition to an overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize awarded in each school. The winners will be invited to recreate their design, or a design of their choice, at the Crafty Potter using ceramic baubles. The baubles, once fired and glazed, will hang on the Christmas tree in the Booths Supermarket in Chorley for the Christmas celebrations.
DESIGN A CHRISTMAS CARD COMPETITION – DEADLINE TUESDAY 4TH NOVEMBER
Pupils are asked to design the front of a Christmas card. A winner will be picked from Euxton Primrose Hill or another local primary school and will win a £25 Tesco gift card, plus a £250 donation to the school. The winning picture will be transferred onto a Christmas card that will be exclusively available for a donation to charity in the Tesco Superstore in Buckshaw Village and the Tesco Extra store in Chorley. A template is attached which needs to be returned to school by Tuesday 4th November. Please write your name, age, school and class on the back. Unfortunately entries cannot be returned.

Children seem to enjoy the social life the Walking Bus offers each morning.
A member of staff will arrive at the Spar at approximately 8.25am and leave promptly at 8.30am for school, with no stopping en-route to pick up additional children. Please see Mr Caunce for more information.
