COMMONWEALTH GAMES BATON RELAY
The children thoroughly enjoyed watching the arrival of the baton to our school from Bretherton Endowed C of E School and gave a massive cheer as the whole of Year 6 left to take our baton to Euxton C of E School. A big Thank You to those parents who came to watch and cheer!
ECO-POND OFFICIAL OPENING – FRIDAY 27TH JUNE
The Mayor and Mayoress of Chorley, Councillor Roy Lees and Mrs Margaret Lees will be officially opening the eco-pond on Friday 27th June at 2.15pm. We will also be joined by local Parish Councillors who kindly donated to this project. Everone is welcome to attend!
PROPOSED BOREATTON PARK TRIP – 2015
Just a reminder that if you would like your child, currently in Year 5, to participate in the residential trip to Boreatton Park next year then a completed reply slip together with a deposit of £40 needs to be returned to school by Friday 27th June.
Toast costs 20p per day. If you wish your child to have toast in the Autumn Term (Thursday 4th September – Friday 19th December), the total cost will be £14.40. Please complete the slip and return it with payment before Wednesday 9th July. Thanks!
LIFE EDUCATION BUS
The Life Bus will be in school on Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd July. Each class will visit the bus to enjoy a planned, stimulating and exciting lesson on health education. There is a special session for parents on Wednesday 2nd July from 8.40 – 9.00am. Although the cost of the bus has been subsidised by school we still require £2.00 per child for this experience. Please could you send this amount into school in a named envelope by Friday 27th June.
PTFA FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT AND BARBEQUE – SATURDAY 28TH JUNE
Kick off for the football tournament is 11am for Infant, Junior and Pre-school matches with approximate finish time 3.00pm. The Barbeque will run all day and hotdogs and burgers will be on sale for a nominal charge. You are welcome to bring your own refreshments but strictly no alcohol please. Raffle tickets are still available from the office for £1 a strip or 20p for an individual ticket. Don’t forget if you wish to bid for the high value prizes please place your bid in a sealed envelope with your contact details and hand to Mrs Vost.
WORLD CUP DINNER – WEDNESDAY 2ND JULY
We are having a special World Cup Dinner on Wednesday 2nd July, which will be open to all children. More details can be found on the attached sheet. All replies need to be returned to school with payment by this Friday morning (27th June) in order that orders can be placed with the suppliers. Unfortunately, no late orders can be accepted.
SCHOOL DINNERS OR PACKED LUNCHES
If your child wishes to change from packed lunches to school dinners, or vice-versa, after the Summer Holiday, please inform Mrs Vost in writing by the morning of Friday 11th July. Thank You!
YEAR 6 SUMMER FAIR
On Wednesday 9th July, the pupils in Year 6 are planning to hold a Summer Fair. More details will follow nearer the time.
In order to hold the fair, they need your help. If you have any unwanted toys, gifts, books or games that they can sell at the Fair, they would be most grateful. These can be given directly to the Year 6 pupils or taken to class from Monday 30th June. Year 6 would like to thank you in anticipation of your support!

Abigail, Isabel and Charlie visited Lancaster University for the Rotakids Conference and all received a Certificate.
LAST WEEK’S HOUSE POINT WINNERS – YELLOW HOUSE – WELL DONE!
We are still collecting Batteries and Clothing, Bedding etc. for the clothes bank at the rear of the school. Your support is really appreciated!
Children seem to enjoy the social life the Walking Bus offers each morning.
A member of staff will arrive at the Spar at approximately 8.25am and leave promptly at 8.30am for school, with no stopping en-route to pick up additional children. Please see Mr Caunce for more information.
