PARENT ATTITUDE QUESTIONNAIRE RESPONSE.

Comment 10

Reception/School office staffing. I pick up at 4 p.m. and there’s no-one in the office to do things such as notifying a change of address.

There are occasions where the office is not staffed and it is difficult to get hold of somebody.

Response

Mrs. Vost is available throughout the school day and can also be contacted before school from 8:30 a.m. As a result of your feedback we have increased Mrs. Vost’s hours so that she is available until 4 p.m. on a Wednesday evening. In the unfortunate event that there is nobody in the office we have installed a letter drop facility in the counter top in reception where you can leave information for the attention of the office staff. This is checked regularly to ensure that we respond quickly to any information that is posted. This year we have also recruited additional office support to try and ensure that there is somebody available. Mrs. Grinsted now works in the office on a Monday and a Wednesday.

PUPIL ABSENCE DUE TO SICKNESS

Please can all parents ensure that they telephone the school office on the first day of absence and then on the third day of absence. This should be followed up by a letter upon the pupil’s return detailing the medical reason for absence.   This system is extremely important in ensuring accurate attendance records and safeguarding pupils.

It is the time of year when the nasty sickness & diarrhoea bug does the rounds.   To avoid the risk of it spreading in school please can you avoid sending your child into school until 48 hours after the last episode of sickness/diarrhoea. Thank you!

SCHOOL SPORTS KIT

We are looking to purchase a new sports kit for the school teams so that the pupils look their best when they attend an increasing number of sporting events. If any parent owns a business and feels that they may be able to sponsor a kit please contact Mr Caunce as soon as possible. Thank you!

PARKING OUTSIDE SCHOOL

Recently a parent’s vehicle was damaged outside school; fortunately no-one was hurt. Please be considerate when dropping off or picking up your child from school by parking responsibly, not on our neighbour’s drives, and driving slowly and carefully. Your co-operation is appreciated!

HEAD LICE

Unfortunately we have noticed some pupils with head lice in the last week. Please can you check your child’s hair and treat where necessary. Your co-operation to help eradicate them is appreciated!
