‘Extra Play Equipment/Sports for break times’

‘Maybe have a few more resources in the playground at playtimes’

Response

As a school we are always looking at ways to improve playtimes. Last year we invested £500 in new play equipment and divided this into boxes that were suitable for the field in Summer and the playtime in Winter. We have just invested another £500 this year to replenish the equipment and ensure that there is enough good quality equipment for pupils.

We also operate a PALS system at lunchtime. This is a scheme whereby our Year 4 pupils are trained by Chorley School Sports Partnership staff in delivering high quality play sessions to younger pupils during lunchtimes. This has proved a very successful scheme and the pupils work very closely together at lunchtimes to provide fun activities for each other utilising PE equipment.

We will continue to invest annually in playtime equipment and will also investigate the possibility of adding more fixed play items over the coming year.

Report Cards

If you have not already done so, we would be grateful if you could return your child’s report card to school for staff to update at the end of this term. You are most welcome to add comments if desired. Please also see the letter being sent out today providing additional information regarding attendance and punctuality figures that were included in the reports.

It has been noticed that names on uniform are wearing off so please can you ensure that they are renamed to avoid items going into lost property.
