Today, Friday 12th February, an artist came from the Lowry art gallery to work with year 1. The children looked at the landscapes in Lowry’s paintings and used these in their own art work. The day began with the class experimenting with water colours. The children had lots of fun trying out different ways of adding paint to their paper! They also learnt about adding layers to their work. The children also sketched buildings from Lowry’s paintings and used these to build up their own landscape picture which they drew onto their watercolour painting. Everybody had a brilliant day and the final pieces look fantastic.
