Reception Admissions
Children usually start primary school in the September following their fourth birthday.
Euxton Primrose Hill Primary School is a community school, and Lancashire County Council is our Admissions Authority. Applications for Reception places should be made through Lancashire County Council during the published admissions period.
Published Admission Number (PAN)
Our Published Admission Number (PAN) is 60 pupils for each Reception intake.
How places are allocated
If the school receives more applications than there are places available, Lancashire County Council allocates places using its published oversubscription criteria. Priority is given to:
- Children who are looked after or previously looked after.
- Children with exceptional medical, social or welfare reasons.
- Children who have a brother or sister attending the school at the time of admission.
- Children who live closest to the school.

Delayed or Deferred Admission
Parents are entitled to request that their child starts school later in the school year or attends part-time until they reach compulsory school age. Parents may also request that their child is admitted outside of their normal age group.

Moving Schools? (In-Year Admissions)
If you are moving into the area or would like your child to transfer to Primrose Hill during the school year, we would be delighted to hear from you.
Applications for in-year admissions are coordinated by Lancashire County Council.
Before submitting an application, we encourage you to contact the school office. We will be happy to discuss current availability, answer your questions and, wherever possible, arrange a visit so you can experience our school first-hand.
If your child joins us during the school year, we work closely with families and previous schools to ensure a smooth and successful transition into life at Primrose Hill.

Waiting Lists and Appeals
If there are no places available, Lancashire County Council operates waiting lists in accordance with its published admissions arrangements.
If your child is not offered a place, you have the right to appeal the decision to an independent appeals panel.
