Meet our EYFS Team

Welcome to Reception!
Welcome to our EYFS class page. Here you will find useful information about life in Reception, including our school day, what your child needs, curriculum information and important updates.
We want children to feel happy, confident and excited about coming to school, and we work closely with families to make the transition into Reception a positive one.
🕘 Our School Day
Our school day starts at 8.40am and finishes at 3.10pm.
Children have lunch at 11.45am, with afternoon learning beginning at 12.45pm.
🌳 Learning Indoors & Outdoors
Our classroom and outdoor area provide a rich learning environment where children can explore all areas of the EYFS curriculum.
Our outdoor provision is available in all weather conditions,so please provide your child with:
- named wellies
- named waterproof clothing
Children also have access to Forest School each Thursday afternoon.
We encourage children to develop independence, so please help your child practise putting on their own shoes and managing buttons, zips and other fastenings.
💧 Water Bottles
Children may bring a named water bottle containing water only.
Children have access to their water throughout the day, apart from during carpet inputs, which last approximately 15 minutes in the morning and afternoon.
🏃 PE
PE takes place every Friday morning.
Your child will need:
- a plain white T-shirt
- black shorts
- white-soled trainers
- a named drawstring bag
PE kits are sent home at the end of each term to be washed.
As part of developing independence, we encourage children to dress and undress themselves, so please practise putting on and taking off PE clothing and shoes at home.
🍎 Morning Snack
Toast and milk are offered in the morning.
Milk is free until your child turns five. If you choose to have toast and/or milk, payment arrangements are communicated through the school office.
If your child does not have toast, you are welcome to provide one piece of fruit for their morning snack.

Keep up to date with news and events from across school:
If you need to speak to your child's teacher or teaching assistant, please contact the school office to arrange a suitable time.
We ask parents not to rely on conversations at the beginning or end of the school day, as staff's priority at these times is ensuring that children arrive and leave school safely, calmly and with the correct adult.
