Mental Health & Wellbeing
Looking after our children's mental health is just as important as looking after their physical health.
At Euxton Primrose Hill Primary School, we want every child to feel safe, valued, listened to and supported.
Growing up can bring many different emotions and experiences. Children may sometimes feel worried, anxious, sad, angry or overwhelmed, and there may be times when they need some extra support.
We want our children to know that it is okay to talk about how they are feeling and ask for help.
Supporting wellbeing at Primrose Hill
Mental health and emotional wellbeing are part of everyday life at our school.
We support children's wellbeing through:
-
our PSHE and Relationships curriculum
-
opportunities to talk about feelings and worries
-
positive relationships and friendships
-
nurture and pastoral support
-
helping children develop confidence and resilience
-
supporting children to recognise and manage their emotions
-
encouraging healthy lifestyles and physical activity
-
creating a school environment where children feel listened to, valued and included.
We recognise that every child is different. We consider each child's individual needs and circumstances and provide support that is appropriate for them.
💬 Worried about your child's wellbeing?
If you notice a change in your child's mood, behaviour or usual routines, or your child tells you that they are struggling, please talk to us.
You don't need to know exactly what is wrong or which service your child needs before getting in touch.
You can speak to your child's class teacher, Phase Leader or a member of our pastoral or Senior Leadership Team.
Our pastoral team can provide a listening ear, offer appropriate support and help you identify the next steps.
If you're worried, talk to us. We are here to help.
