Living our values every day
At Euxton Primrose Hill, British Values are not simply something we teach as a lesson. They are woven through our CARE values, our curriculum, our relationships and everyday life in school.
We want our children to grow into confident, respectful and responsible members of their community who understand their rights and responsibilities and appreciate the diverse world in which they live.
Our CARE values of Courage, Ambition, Respect and Excellence provide the foundation for this work.

🗳️ Democracy
We want children to understand thattheir voice matters.
Children have opportunities to share their views, make choices and contribute to decisions that affect school life. Our School Council gives pupils a formal opportunity to represent their classmates, share ideas and help shape our school.
Children also experience democracy through everyday classroom life, including voting, discussion, collaborative decision-making and listening to different opinions.
We encourage pupils to understand that democracy involves both having your voice heard and respecting the voices of others.
⚖️ The Rule of Law
Children need to understand why rules exist and how they help to keep our community safe, fair and respectful.
Our school expectations and Behaviour & Relationships approach provide a clear framework for children, with consistent boundaries and opportunities to understand the impact of their choices.
Through our curriculum and wider experiences, children learn about rules and laws, fairness, rights and responsibilities, and the importance of making positive choices.
🕊️ Individual Liberty
We want children to develop the confidence and independence to make positive choices.
Our children are encouraged to express their opinions, make decisions, take appropriate risks and develop their own interests, while understanding that freedom comes with responsibility.
Through our curriculum, enrichment opportunities, clubs and pupil leadership roles, children are encouraged to discover their strengths, try new experiences and develop the confidence to make choices about their learning and interests.
This links closely to our CARE value of Courage.
🤝 Mutual Respect
Respect is one of our CARE values and is at the heart of life at Primrose Hill.
We teach children to respect themselves, others and the environment.
Children learn that people may have different backgrounds, beliefs, opinions, interests and experiences, and that these differences should be treated with kindness and respect.
Our curriculum, assemblies, relationships, behaviour approach and wider experiences all provide opportunities for children to develop empathy, listen to others and work collaboratively.
We want every member of our school community to feel valued, included and respected.
🌍 Understanding Different Faiths, Cultures & Beliefs
We want our children to develop a rich understanding of the diverse world in which they live.
Through our curriculum, particularly Religious Education, History, Geography, English and our wider enrichment programme, children encounter different faiths, cultures, traditions and ways of life.
We provide opportunities for children to ask questions, explore similarities and differences and develop an understanding of perspectives that may be different from their own.
Visitors, trips, assemblies, special events and members of our wider community also help to broaden children's experiences and develop their cultural awareness.
British Values in Everyday Life
British Values are reflected throughout school life rather than taught in isolation.
