Welcome to Everest Class. Year 6 is a very special year at Primrose Hill Primary School, marking the final chapter of the children's primary school journey. It is a year in which pupils bring together all the knowledge, skills and experiences they have developed throughout their time at Primrose Hill, while preparing for the exciting transition to high school.

In Everest Class, children are encouraged to become confident, independent and responsible learners who are ready for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Through a broad, engaging and ambitious curriculum, pupils continue to develop their reading, writing and mathematics skills, while deepening their knowledge across a range of subjects. Lessons promote curiosity, resilience, critical thinking and collaboration, helping children to become well-rounded learners.

Year 6 is a year of achievement, growth and leadership. Alongside their academic learning, pupils are given many special privileges and opportunities that reflect their role as the oldest children in school. One of the highlights of the year is the residential visit to PGL Boreatton Park in Shropshire, where children take part in a range of adventurous outdoor activities that help to build confidence, teamwork, independence and resilience.

Pupils also have the opportunity to perform in our end-of-year Leavers' Production, a memorable celebration of their time at Primrose Hill. In addition, Year 6 children are entrusted with important responsibilities, including acting as Buddies to our new EYFS children, helping younger pupils to settle into school life and demonstrating the caring, supportive values of our school community.

Everest Class is taught by Mrs Brockie, who is dedicated to supporting every child to achieve their full potential and ensuring they are fully prepared for the transition to high school. High expectations, encouragement and personalised support help all pupils to approach their final year of primary school with confidence and determination.

We strive to create a positive, supportive and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued, challenged and inspired to succeed. Alongside academic achievement, we place great importance on developing leadership, responsibility, resilience and strong friendships that will support children as they move on to the next stage of their education.

We believe that a strong partnership between school and home is essential in helping children make the most of this important year, and we value the support and communication of parents and carers throughout the year.
