School Meals

We want lunchtime to be an enjoyable part of every child's school day. Children can choose to have a school meal or bring a packed lunch from home.

Our school meals are prepared on site, with a choice of meals available each day.

🍽️ School Meals

Our school meals are prepared in school and children are offered a choice from the menu.

Payment for school meals should be made in advance through Parent Pay.

If you have any questions about school meals or payment, please contact the school office.

🥪 Packed Lunches

Children are welcome to bring a packed lunch from home.

We ask that packed lunches are brought in one small container and that families support our approach to healthy eating.

Children bringing a packed lunch have access to drinking water throughout the day.

💧 Drinks in School

We encourage children to drink plenty of water throughout the school day.

Children may bring water from home in a plastic bottle or container. Please do not send glass bottles or flavoured drinks.

Milk is also available mid-morning for children in KS1 for a small annual charge.

🍎 Playtime Snacks

We encourage children to bring fresh fruit or vegetables to enjoy at break time.

Children in KS1 receive a piece of fruit each day as part of our commitment to promoting healthy eating.

Toast is also available to purchase from the school cook.

We ask that children do not bring cereal bars, confectionery or other snacks to eat at break time.

🍎 Why do we ask for fresh fruit or vegetables?

We recognise that families have different preferences and that some children have dietary needs which mean that they cannot eat certain foods.

To make break time fair and inclusive for everyone, we keep our expectations simple and consistent: fresh fruit and vegetbales.

This means that children have the same choices available to them and helps to ensure that no child feels different because of what they can or cannot have.

Thank you for supporting us with this.

Nut-Free School

Euxton Primrose Hill is a nut-free school.

Some members of our school community have severe nut allergies. To help keep everyone safe, nuts and products containing nuts must not be brought into school.

We really appreciate your support with this.

🍴 Lunchtime at Primrose Hill

Lunchtime is an important part of the school day and a chance for children to relax, socialise and enjoy time with their friends.

Children eat together in our school hall and are encouraged to develop independence, good table manners and consideration for others.

Our welfare team supervise children throughout lunchtime, both in the dining hall and during play.

Free School Meals

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 can receive free school meals through the Universal Infant Free School Meals programme.

Your child may also be eligible for benefits-related free school meals beyond Year 2. If you think your child may be eligible, please contact the school office for further information.
